Our signature YMGT Fitness Group Sessions are the foundation of our program.
They run for 60 minutes and are designed to get you fit, get you healthy, challenge your mind, challenge your body, and most importantly MAKE FITNESS FUN!
Our sessions are suitable for all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced and everyone else in between. We will work with your capabilities to ensure you achieve success at every session. No two workouts are ever the same, so you will never get bored! But be warned, our sessions are known for causing an endorphin rush – a feel good emotion that leaves you on a high for the rest of the day. And for that, our sessions can become highly addictive!
Most of our Group Sessions include child minding.
What is HIIT?
HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is a training method in which intervals of 100 per cent effort are interspersed with more moderate recovery periods. It can be applied to both cardio and weight bearing exercises.
For example, periods of sprinting as fast as you can followed by walking. Or in the case of weight bearing exercises, doing push-ups as fast as you can and then resting for a few seconds between sets.
Why is HIIT so effective?
This style of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. When you do steady state cardio your heart rate returns back to normal fairly quickly after a workout, but when you do HIIT it takes much longer to return back to its normal resting rate. This increases your calorie burn for hours after your workout.
The best part about a HIIT workout is that it's quick and convenient, a 15 minute HIIT workout will give you the same fat-burning benefits as a 30 minute steady state workout.
Our specialised HIIT sessions run for 45 minutes and are designed to burn calories and increase your metabolism!
